Health is wealth
There are few universal truths, but Health is Wealth has to be one of the truest facts on Planet Earth.
From the day we develop a mind of our own, we get pushed into a race for success. We race around our life trying to secure a win here and build a legacy there. We want the good things in life and are ready to do whatever it takes to leave our footprints in the sands of time. So, we chase money, success, victories, and happiness.
Sadly, in the hustle and bustle, many people forget to look after their health. In fact, most people leave their health at the mercy of external factors. They simply forget to assume control over their health. And they suffer for it.
As A.J Materi put it,
"So many spend their health gaining wealth, and then have to spend their wealth to regain their health."
The truth is, no amount of wealth can buy good health. Most times, if you ruin your health, you may not get a second chance to restore it. That is why good health is the most precious wealth we have. We have all been bestowed with a body and mind to carry us to the destinations we want. However, many people get so fixated on their destination that they forget to take care of the vehicle driving them toward it. As you know, that is a recipe for disaster.
What is good health? Good health means being free from diseases and staying physically and mentally fit—such a short description of an essential aspect of our lives. Health is the foundation for all other wants we have. You cannot achieve your goals if you are sick half of the time. You cannot achieve maximum productivity if you are always in and out of the hospital.
Being sick is expensive. You have to pay bills and lose valuable time. Even insurance becomes more costly when you are already ill. On the other hand, good health increases your productivity and gives you self-confidence. With good health, you will have an extra spring in your steps.
So, why do you fall sick and into bad health? Most cases of bad health are explained by bad habits, a lack of rest, a lack of knowledge, negligence, or the desire for shortcuts. And that is why I have written this book—to provide you with the right knowledge and motivation to become physically and mentally fit.
Staying fit is simple if you know what to do. The Golden Rules of Health hold universal wisdom and have not changed in two centuries. With them, you can finally take control of your health and avoid sickness. Remember that prevention is better than a cure. With these rules, you will finally be able to live up to your potential.
Like most of the good things in life, though, you need to put in the effort to enjoy good health. You need to become responsible for your health and stop leaving it to chance.
Naval Ravikant summed it up perfectly when he said, "Doctors won't make you healthy. Nutritionists won't make you slim. Teachers won't make you smart. Gurus won't make you calm. Mentors won't make you rich. Trainers won't make you fit. Ultimately, you have to take responsibility. Save yourself."
Are you ready to save yourself? Are you tired of little niggles that reduce your efficiency? Do you want to avoid preventable ailments and enjoy a fulfilling life? Do you want to sack your doctor?
